    Looking for more on he laws of mining in pa. I would like to dredge or maybe run a small slice or a high banker.

    You can sluice and pan. High bankers are permitted if you have a sediment pond. No prospecting on State or federal properties. No dredges. Pretty restricted.

    Sediment pond could you use a tote for one or does it have to be man made?

    I think it has to be a pond big enough to hold all the water you pump out of the creek. Nothing is permitted to run back in. The concern is sediment, mercury and lead being put back in the water. If you are like most of us, you would remove the lead that you caught in your sluice. The spring floods move way more material than we would with our little 2 inch dredges. I just don't get it....
