    Does it matter how you put the expanded screen back in the sluice? The way it is expanded can create more of a riffle or less of one.

    Common wisdom over the years is to put it in the box so that the lowest part of the mesh is toward the head of the box, and the raised portion is making more little riffles to trap material.

    How much of a difference it makes might be open for debate, but I'll take any little advantage I can get to not have anything escape.
