Anyone have any recent reports on Golden Skye 7 or other nearby claims in Lincoln Co planning a trip this weekend to ruidoso so that would be one of my stops.

Against the Wind is super easy to access and I had a little luck. Nothing spectacular. Now Golden Skye 7 I cannot give a report. Reason road had some washout going up to the claim. 4x4 is a must. I actually had to back down the mountain road a good ways to get off the mountain. I thought about a hike in however time just did not allow. I opted to sluice in the river Ruidoso for the remaining trip close to Lake Bonito on some unclaimed BLM land. I had a lille luck there as well but nothing to write home about. Over all it was a nice trip. Wife and kiddos love sluicing however on the GPAA claims mentioned they did not enjoy the shoveling of the over burden with the slight heat we had that day. I probably would of spent a week on the claim if I was alone but kiddos and wife when they started loosing interest it was time to go. Sorry I cant give a better report on Golden Skye 7 if you venture to it please let me know your findings....

BTW if your ever in the Silverton CO area visit that claim. Wife and kids loved Sluicing in the river and we did get some color. Altitude is very high there but it was worth the trip for the shear enjoyment and scenery. I would recommend on that claim to have some personal protection from wildlife (Bears) in a extreme need. Again didnt get rich on this claim but the enjoyment alone for the wife, kids and myself was well worth it. The claim is really close to town. Near the Silverton Durango narrow gauge railway. You will get a lot of train travelers waving when they pass by. There is also some hard rock mines you could tour nearby. We ran out of time. Only issue I had was I about got a touch of pnemonia from the cool winds being on the river and not pacing myself better. The 2 days i was there was great. The rest of the week being sick killed my additional claim trips to other GPAA claims in Colorado. I wound up in Denver and let the wife and kids do thier thing while I tried to recover. I really want to check out Leadville in the future since that claim visit was scratched due to being sick.
