South Eastern-Central Washington Chapter thoughts anyone? Seems their are a few folks in this area that are looking for a chapter/group to join. I,m putting out some feelers to see if there is enough interest to start a chapter. I'm in the Tri-citys and thinking from Yakima to WallaWalla and the surrounding areas might hold a group. If you are interested or have any input please post up. Thanks Joebob

    Morn'n Joebob,

I live in Colton, Wa. and I'd be interested.

Want to check out the Tucannon River and surrounding area's. Any color around there? Couple summers ago we camped at

Misery Spring Campground and we were going to ride the atv's around and explore but we were rained out.  Want to go back

and check it out some more.

    Vince

Good possibility in some of the rivers around there.  Snake/Salmon brought it down before the days of the dams.  Add in that big granitic intrusion dome that is Eagles Caps, and all the mining activity all around it,  Though that was mostly on the east/southeast sides.  Worth a look see anyway.

Hi Vince, i hope we get some more interest as for as a chapter goes. I have only been to Hard Wages west of Yakima so far but still new to the area. Are there any year around locations here, that are good to sluse or detect?

    Morn'n Joebob,

Snow coming on now.  Gonna close roads to most sluicing/detecting areas.

If ya wanna do some panning or classify a few buckets to take home you might try the banks of the Clearwater River at Gibbs Eddy and up river

from there.  Mostly fine stuff by you can get into some pockets of very small course. I see a lot of prospecting holes along there.

Nice rv park at McKays Bend (Myrtle) about 20 miles up river from Lewiston. Cheap, clean and right on the river. Bathroom and showers too.

Well, so much for the Tucannon River. Really nice area for camping too.

My name is Bob Burns (509 38-4444 ) and I also live in tri-cities, Benton City Vinyards on Sunset Rd. I don't think that there is a chapter in this area? I am also an LDMA member and I go to the LDMA claims in Oregon. There will be an outing in early September which invites LDMA and GPAA Members for a Joint Outing. I have a friend who recently joined GPAA at the joint dig there last year. I am a disabled veteran so I no longer dig the holes to China. I have a toyHauler Trailer that we use for prospecting Trips.
