    Hey Guys and Gals,

I've just swapped out the old image album for a brand new one I've been brewing for a little while now.  The new album aims to change some things I didn't really like about the old one - most notably, it's much easier to use.

    Image Tagging

We'll also be adding some new features to it down the line.  For now, we've added the ability for you to tag photos to events you've been.  You will now find on the event pages (such as gold expos) a new Community Photos section.  Anything you've tagged to that particular event in your own albums will also show up there!  Remember to be responsible  and keep your tagged photos relative to their subject

    Likes

Did you see a photo you really liked?  You can now like photos you are viewing.  This is a great way to tell the person who uploaded the photo you appreciate their contributions and helps spread the word throughout the community on cool images you've found.

    Fresh New Interface

The older photo album did its job, but didn't really excel at being useful.  We've streamlined the interface for the new album and made a lot of what you do work more responsively.  Most everything you do happens without the page ever changing.  Which means you'll be wasting less time waiting for your photos to load and instead be properly wasting that time seeing where the community has been and checking out all that gold Bob found on his last dig.  I've also darkened the picture viewer.  At first, this seemed counter-intuitive with the brighter theme we have for the site.  In the end though, I decided it worked out really well as it helped put focus on the photos.

    Check It Out!

I hope you guys and gals like the new updates to the photo albums.  You can create albums and upload photos at any time in your user profile (just click your display name or photo in the top right and it's under Photos on the left).  We're really hoping that this album helps keep the site fresh, exciting and help down the path of adding new and useful features to keep our site focused around you - our awesome community!   I can't wait to see your new photos!

Can you add a page where members can upload videos?

    Hey John,

We're actually planning on having member video posting in the future.  I can't say when, but we'd like that a lot.

I am trying to figure out how to add a picture into a post. The file size is less than 1.5 M and when I try to create an album I get errors. Any one have some shortcut direct way to do it right. ?

I think it states that 1M is max for files. I have changed my on line images to 700k files.

Here's a work around for postion  a thread image.

Click on that i in the white balloon at top, select image manager, new folder, upload (at top), select, from computer, upload, insert.  Your image is now in your post, (and in your folder)

    Hope this helps.   Frank...-

MI chapter admin here... I'm suffering extreme fail on uploading images from our last outing to the chapter's page. I've no issues doing so for my profile. What gives?
