Not really sure this is the correct place to post this.

I am a greenhorn to prospecting having only about a year and a half under my belt. I am a greenhorn to GPAA. I am going to be heading to one of the 3 claims in El Dorado NF this Friday.. my question is this, Can I bring my brother with me? I know I have to have my permit and card with me.. but is he,as family allowed to join me? I know the areas pretty good and know that at times you will run into people that..well you know

    Back up is always appreciated.

    Thank you

    Tony

Yes you can take family and or friends.  Make sure you take your guide book as well.  I was up there earlier this year taking advantage of a break in the weather.  Problem was the road was closed for the winter.  Somehow the gate swung open just as I was about to leave.  Ventured about 50 yards up the road and there was a USFS agent there waiting for me.  Hmmmm, fortunately she was having a good day and let us off with a little scolding.  I think it helped having my good looking son in the car.  Just saying she seemed to be talking to him most of time.  Look forward to making it back up there soon.  Good luck!

Tony-   You are allowed up to four (4) guests at a time on the claims.  Your guests are limited to panning only according to the guidelines.

Have fun and keep an eye out for all the nasty biting-stinging things out there.

Your membership covers your spouse/significent other and kids still at home.
