Hi. My husband and I are going to Spokane to visit his brother this weekend. I will be on my own that Saturday and want to find a place to detect or pan/sluice. Does anyone have any information on where I can go. Do not want to be on any ones claim. Have great GPS so know if on private or public. Thank you. Appreciate it.

Washingtons laws are pretty strict and there isn't a whole lot near Spokane. Libby Montana is the closest place that I go to that has any color. Refer to your book for claim details in Libby MT. Its about 3-4 hour drive.

Thank you David, we will be heading to Eureka past Libby after Spokane. The Libby claim has been shut down. There is a free dig up the road but not as much fun as the GPAA claim.

The Libby claim is now owned privately, no longer GPAA.  Used to go there all the time and had color in every pan, though small.  We went there last fall (2016) and ran into the new owner who was very nice and let us pan.  You must have his permission though, and he camps onsite for the summer.
