Howdy folks, thought I'd give a quick intro to GPAA community. My wife and I live in Sioux Falls and I'm a recently retired LEO and loving every minute of it . I have been an avid metal detectorist for many many years but have always wanted to try prospecting. I've learned so much from lurking on this and other forums and finally signed up for my 3 year subscription. My new pan is seasoned, I have a set of classifiers, and I've been practicing my panning in a plastic tub. 

Although I haven't met any of them yet, I look forward to getting to know the folks at the Northern Hills Prospectors. Luckily my wife's brother lives near Piedmont and we usually get out to visit them a few times a year......I have a feeling it may be more now.

I guess I was wondering if any of the local club members would be willing to let me tag along as i'm totally new to this. I haven't gotten my kit in the mail yet so I don't know where the claims are but it sounds like there are at least 4 of them?
