This club is being formed to fill a void in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area which per Wikipedia list the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area as having a land mass size of over 14565.76 Sq miles. Because of such a large area of coverage many of the existing GPAA members must drive a round trip of over sixty miles or better just to attend the closest GPAA Chapter, currently it is the GPAA Phoenix chapter.

To fill this void created by our rather large metropolitan area, many of the current and past members of GPAA have come together to form a new Gold Prospecting club to be known as “Gold Prospectors Association of Apache Junction” Located in Apache Junction, Pinal County Arizona. The members of the “Gold Prospectors Association of Apache Junction” club are currently working hard to complete its paperwork to become an official chapter of the “Gold Prospectors Association of America” and to register with Pinal County as a non-profit club and the IRS.

This is a collective effort by many individuals who are currently members of several other Gold Prospecting Clubs and the GPAA Chapter in Phoenix AZ.

Our mission statement and goal of the Gold Prospectors Association of Apache Junction is to work together to fill a need of the Arizona Recreational Gold Prospectors and Small Gold Miners in Pinal County and the East valley of the Great Phoenix Metropolitan area. Our contact Email address for the group is GPAAAJ@GMAIL.COM

Great news for those in East Valley of Phoenix and Apache Junction and let’s not forget those Gold Prospectors in Pinal county…The “Gold Prospectors Association of Apache Junction” is moving forward and reaching their milestones though not as fast as some would like, but we are slowly reaching them. To build anything to last you must have a solid foundation. If you like playing in the dirt like we do! Then come and join us and get dirty with us play in the dirt and having fun doing it. Check out our Facebook with the same name as above…sorry gotta go there a dirt pile with my name on it to dig in too. Bye. Oh yes, I almost forgot, we changed our Email address it is Goldbox@tlcsem.com and don’t forget to stop on our Facebook page and join our group page…

As a member of the Phoenix GPAA chapter, but living in Thatcher (145 miles, way east of Phoenix), an Apache Junction Chapter is much closer for us.  About an hour to an hour and a half closer.  The Phoenix GPAA Chapter has and is most helpful, friendly, and composed of great people.  Some may feel this is a competition, but not so.  We are all GPAA and if a Chapter is formed that may serve some better due to travel or logistics, maybe some of us could or would participate more often at meetings and outings.  This would benefit all of us GPAA members.

We would support both chapters as much as we can.

In all Honesty Apache Junction would be much easier and more economical for us to attend.

Thank you all for your efforts and keep us posted.

    Jeff

I hate to be the one who tells you after long hours and money. The Gold Prospectors Association of Apache Junction is NO Longer a Chapter of GPAA! To find out more of the finer details I suggest an Email to the Chapter Director of GPAA Richard Robinson at GPAA. All I can say is he failed to do what he should not have done in that position within GPAA and he took sides without finding out all the details. There is a big credibility issue and it’s not mine!
