When is the latest you can mine at rye patch and is it still open or did they grab it for the sage grouse.

I just got a claim there then found out about the sage grouse. I haven't even had a chance to go there yet.

Where about in Rye Patch did you get it. I am through there quite a bit, but find it odd that you have never been to it? Did you buy it on the internet? Its a great place that is easy to acess and hunt.

The above web address is an interactive map of the "proposed mineral withdrawal areas in Sagebrush Focal Areas". Not yet approved, hopefully everyone here has written their letters to their representatives already.

If you already have a claim in a "withdrawal" area you have preexisting rights. Meaning, you can mine your claim even if they implement the Sagebrush Withdrawals. Miners should file as many claims as possible in proposed withdrawal areas to protect future access to these important mineral lands.

Edmond, if you would like to give me your claim number I could find out if it is in the proposed area. I think you can private message me here on the GPAA forum,,,,, you can do that here right?

I was there last week just after it snowed in Reno. You can go pretty much anytime. As long as it is a sunny day and the wind is moderate I find it comfortable to be out there. Even in December or January days can be nice.
