For those that saw the Gold Trails show where Kevin stopped by the store in Bend and thoughtyou might want to drop by, forget it.

I was in central Oregon Mon.-Wed. and stopped by yesterday to pick up a couple of classifiers and lo and behold the store is closed and cleaned out, with signs on the doors saying storefront is gone, but the toll free phone line is still up and running for orders.

That is too bad. I miss having storefronts, the knowledgeable staff and a place to go back to if you have questions or a problem with the gear. It is also good to support your local small business owner to help them keep the storefront open!

This is happening all up and down the left coast as the left runs them all.

Hadn't been through Bend for quite a few years and was in awe as to how much it had grown.  It is a pretty "geen" town now and the poplation is right at 81,000.  I can remember in the mid 70's when they would be hard pressed to hit 12-15,000 on a good day and that included counting the jack rabbits and rattlers inside the city limits.  Now full of mtn bikers, skiers, hikers, you get the idea.............

I used to like the idea of skiing a active volcano, I used to bear hunt on one, but those days have long since passed. Now I just want to get some good wings and unfortunately Hooters in Grand Junction has closed their doors. Here in GJ we do see the influx of pot heads, but it is not bad, they tend to stay mostly on the liberal side of Colorado (The Eastern Slope) and avoid the Western slope since our county has said no to cannabis.

I do hope that Grand Junction continues to be a town of old fashioned Blue Collared workers, it is what makes this place more beautiful than anything I have found in all my travels, this is why we put our roots here.
