She was definitely dry but there are still puddles at the end of July got this doing some crevassing found a nice hole to boot! Tried all the SD claims with no luck except for Huskers. Weather was perfect except for one major down pour with some nasty hail down towards Custer. We will be back next year without a doubt looking at some other promising areas. Met a guy there that was telling me that that whole section was dozed up about 6-7yrs ago so all that is there now is flood gold. Also the ridge came down up on the hill side may be an area to check out. Oh ya and the poison ivy is crazy out there stay safe!

Hi, I am new to GPAA and am going up to the Black Hills next month. Is there a detailed map of the claim boundaries for me to look at and know where I'm legal and to do some research on these areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Scott

Question, can motorized pumping or dredging allowed?? There is white truck from Iowa with motorized equipment. Stream is not currently running .

Just an FYI, lots of homeless people living at Huskers. The water level was high and the road was washed out. While checking things out we were approached by some scummy native guy. He was very confrontational and didn’t appreciate us being there. We sluices for a few hours and notices he was hanging around our vehicle. We left him a warm 12 pack of beer which seemed to make him happy. He was living out of an old mini van. Another person was living out of a Mercury Grand Marqui or similar vehicle. I believe he sleeps in the trunk of the car. I recommend locking up your vehicle right and carry a gun. The Native guy May be drunk after the 12 pack and looks like someone’s knocked out most of his teeth already.

If I remember correctly your only allowed to camp there for 3 days. If the road going in is washed out then I suggest contacting the local National Forest station for a welfare check on these individuals and let it sort it self out.

Was up to husker claim this week end for six hours. Panned out just under half a gram.
There was very little water this spring, still some water holes to play in.
Just a reminder there's some tunneling going on that will get some one hurt along with getting the claim shut down, also under mining trees, the place looked terrible.

Let's all work together and keep our claims open for the feature of our children.

Thanks
Bruce

I was there 2 years ago and didnt really find anything there. Have you been to the other claim off Nemo road? I'm heading back to Lead next week and would like to try it again. Anywhere in the area to buy a small sluice?
Thanks,
Jason
