As stated am semi-new to this although I have built up an assortment of equipment. Assorted screens AND pans, a blue bowl and a desert fox. Have gotten paydirt online and practiced and am now looking forward to heading out and giving it my first go at it. My main question is even though we are all GPAA members nation wide, If I (living in Iowa) decide to go to lets say Co to do some prospecting, are the Co based members ok with that or do (groups) not like outsiders to just come in and give it a go???

Joseph , welcome to the GPAA family, I have been a member for a little under 2 years and every where I go I am treated like a long lost brother. People spend long periods of time helping me learn to use new equipment, where they like to go on a claim and even bandaging me up (I am clumsy). I think if you go out to Colorado, you will be welcomed and even have company along to help you find the god spots. Goof Hunting and welcome to our family.

I'll second Tim, hit up the chapter contact person in the area and you should find folks to play with.  Some of the best folks you will ever want to meet and you WILL make new long term friends.
