Hello friends, my wife and I just moved back to Redondo Beach CA from Seattle WA. I recently joined the GPAA and we are interested in learning how to mine for gold using the various equipment (pans, sluices, high bankers, dry washers, etc) as well as learn how to look for gold and file claims. I also enjoy metal detecting and am interested in meeting up with like minded folks to do some prospecting with. I did a small amount of prospecting in the San Bernardino Mountains back in the 1970's when my family lived up there so I would like to get back up there and work the GPAA claims as well as other areas. I built my own recirculating sluice which I run at home and it works very well. Any help would be appreciated and reciprocated so please let me know if you would like to meet up and do some prospecting. Thank you and may you always find color in your pan!

Hello Brian, Welcome to the GPAA family.

My one suggestion to help you get back into it, is to join one of the local GPAA chapters in your area. There are always folks who are glad to help, and plenty of friendship and things to do like outings and monthly meetings.

There are 16 chapters in CA, here's the link to the chapter directory.
