Howdy to all you prospectors, I have been to Alabama Gold Camp a few times and got just a tad of flour gold. I only spent a couple hours each time. Rented a high banker and also used a small sluice box another time. Little return. I'm sure did not stay long enough. Question is, how much time would anyone continue without much payout. As grandpa said when I was fishing and did not get a bite, "Probably wasn't hold my mouth right." A day, a week, thoughts? Also, if I wanted to head to another place, another state where I might find more, any recommendations? BTW, love the AGC and the folks around there. Great place to try your luck if you have not been there yet.

I’m in the same situation. I had a 6inch dredge I reduced to 4 inches and never got enough to buy my lunch. Like you I love the place but it’s strictly a hobby and any gold is good gold. I’ve been out of it for several years, just paid my dues yesterday to start back. I want to try Cornhouse creek 30 minutes away. Tuff trying to find a good place in the southeast. I do know a guy that got right at 2 oz at agc dredging daylight till dark t days in a muddy pit they dug. That was dedicated. He couldn’t see anything

Hey Kevin, I don’t know if you’re willing or able to travel as far as California, but that’s my recommendation for the yellow stuff. I’m from Huntsville, Texas and it’s 28 hours to the GPAA claims in Plumas County. I’ve got my own claims there as well. I love the Little Grizzly Creek area and have worked good color from there. I use Gold Hog equipment and have a Raptor highbanker and Honda pump for sale if interested.?? Check out my prospecting reviews. Advanced Geologic in Chester, California has good claims for sale there as well if you want to own your own ground, which is the next dimension of prospecting happiness! Review their website for available claims. We utilize their filing service to ensure our annual filings are done right and on time! Good luck friend 🤝. Brian

Hey Brian, Can you offer information about how to buy a gold claim and the approximate costs involved in doing so? Is there a website where I can search gold claim properties for sale?

Hey Christopher, Yes, here’s the information: Advanced Geologic Exploration, Inc. Scientists of the Earth 283 Main Street, Chester P.O. Box 1956, Chester, CA 96020 Voice: (530) 258-4228 Fax: (530) 258-4339 info@advancedgeologic.com All of their currently available claims are in Northern California, none left in Arizona. I recommend thoroughly reviewing the extensive information on their website before pulling the trigger, but this is a place I trust to purchase your own claim without doing all the research and work of staking your own. I would be cautious of listings on eBay. Their claims start around $5000 and go up,…the better the ground, the higher the price but Charlie will entertain reasonable offers. He has given us sound advice, tell him what you’re looking for after you research his available claims and he can give you a recommendation. I’ve got two 20 acre claims and pay annually <$100 for state property taxes and around $600 for their filing service (with the small miners waiver because we perform annual assessment work and mine them). Good luck 🤝

Hey Christopher, did you consider any claims that AG had to offer in Plumas County? Or is it too far/not what you’re looking for?

Hello Brian, I am still doing research & have been looking at all options. I'm not in a hurry to make any decisions but trying to set-up some opportunities that I will be able to pursue when I retire in a few years. At the moment I've been working a lot but also in the process of purchasing metal detectors and gear that I will need in the future. I appreciate the info that you provided and I am still searching through those properties. Chris

You’re smart to consider all options and what will make you happy. Let me know if you want additional information about the two recommendations I provided…it’s a big investment. I’ve got experience at both locations. God bless 🤝 Brian
