High Clearance Vehicle Recommended!
1. From Polique Canyon Rd go north to Holcomb Valley Rd junction.
2. Continue on; Polique turns into 3N16.
3. Go .2 miles, turn right onto Arctic Canyon Rd.
4. Go .5 miles and take 2nd right.
5. Go .3 miles to claim boundary (Ingress Point).

first let me say this is a beautiful drive in mountain setting. road is curvy going up the mountain, when you start into the Holcomb Valley the road stops and the dirt begins. the road is a 4x4 trail and has a lot of deep spots with large humps. I AM NOT A 4X4 GUY so I was a bit puckerd up a bit on the tough roads but you 4x4 guys will love it. on 6/16 there was some kind of jeep thing going on so a lot of really nice jeeps running the same trails. the tough trails were no match for them...the more experienced off roaders. high clearance vehicle is a must. google maps took us straight there using the gps numbers in the guide.
the ingress area has another trail that runs north in the claim to the northwest and will lead you direct to a Mine located on the claim pictured in other posts about this claim.

The majority of the road is a regular old dirt/rock forest road. Doable in any non-lowered car. There are a few spots that gave us fits. Even the rock crawlers who passed us commented on those parts. Right near the John Bull trail and that is a real bear!

From highway 38 on the north side of Big Bear Lake take Polique Canyon Road which turns into 3N16 all of the way to a 3 way intersection. Turn right onto Arctic Canyon Rd. (3N10). About a half mile in you will take the second right remaining on 3N10. Continue on 3N10 until you reach the corner of the claim boundary. As of 04/03/2026 Arctic Canyon Road is pretty nasty and only high clearance 4 wheel drive rigs should attempt to drive it. There are some deep offset ruts and plenty of decent sized sharp rocks. Once you are there it is a beautiful place.
