Although familiar with the Garrett ATX, I had never actually unboxed the unit or used the quick-start guide to begin detecting with this incredible sensitive detector.

What I found upon opening the ATX Deep Seeker package was a thoroughly well planned and economic use of space in the case, making everything easy to understand, assemble and get up and running in just a few minutes. Even doing it by guy code and refusing to look over the manual.

The Quick-Start guide is simple, easy to understand and concise. Following only the Q-S, a first time detectorist would have no problems in starting, adjusting, and detecting in just a few minutes

Do not let the size of the manual intimidate you. Garrett has taken great strides to not only include the basics, but they have gone further and offer intermediate and advanced features and settings in the manual. These are generally only found on forum and manufacturer sites.

Over the next few weeks I will be putting a lot of hours on the ATX presenting a complete product review in an upcoming edition of the GPAA Magazine.

Note: In the video, I said I would check into a headphone adapter that would allow you to use your favorite 14; inch detecting headphones. The adapter is available from Garrett for a reasonable cost and the part number is 1/4" Headphone Adapter, PN: 1626000. Since it is designed to be used with standard headphones, it is not submersible.
