as you over charge for going to ldma sites its not worth a buck a day at dburg az is a rv park and Oregon bb clam rattle snake hole and you charge way to much for power and no dump stations its all for the money not the miners burnt river smalls bad cow piss. no golds at scotts river i have lived on the klamath river at the town of klamath river before you had the clam but i will sell out or just stop paying if ever body did not pay then ma b city foke like they are at the ldma start thinking mining not just filling there wallets with the money and get some good clams as we have lost some good clams and have some really crap clams and for the camp care takers we will not go there it all for the money not for the miners

WOW, all I can say is WOW. First off, if you want to sell, find someone who can put together a coherent ad and put it in the for sale page. As for snakes at BB, and cows at BR, that comes with the territory. We are used to it out here and accept the outdoors as mother nature gives it to us.

So this may be a teachable moment for the LDMA & the GPAA. I suggest going with a 'Roaring Camp' style of business. A new model forward, with a Saturday night Steak, hook-ups, cabins, restrooms (then our wives will go), a pile of paydirt and a highbanker right next to your RV spot, oh ya, then you might make some money. But who knows, right?

Adam, If that's the way you want it we need to hold it in Nevada and leave the wives at home. My Coon ass Cajun wife will castrate me when I get home for sure.

Adam.....have you been to Roaring Camp? I won a week stay there and will do that this coming spring/summer. It seems to me that place is a "must go" because of the potential and proximity to the gold. Wondering if anyone else has "been there done that" and can give some advise.

Ben: Well, I guess then girlfriends may go...If there's a bathroom. And maybe a 'Gilligan's Island' themed cheeseburger & Beer shack for lunch would be nice as well. I knew a guy who lived on a Gold bearing river and his girlfriend brought him Steaks & Bacon & Beer on Saturday. she'd spend the night and go home Sunday. Perfect. Leo: No I haven't been there, but Roaring Camp is on my bucket list, I've watched all the videos, and it sounds like fun. Gold piles ($325 I think?) Cabins, RV & tent sites. And I know you can prospect on your own for $0. The old lodge & the Saturday night Steak dinner looks like fun.

Leo, I have been there one time on a day trip to meet some other prospectors. I have a cabin about six miles from RC, no need to stay there. Beautiful area to mine, lots of room to roam, miles of river, plenty of water year round and other fun things to do in the area. I would recommended late spring early summer. Waiting to mid or late summer and the temps can be very warm, 100+ is normal Early fall can be nice. There is hydro electricity produced some miles above RC, water temps stay pretty consistent your round RC also has a working gold mine above the river, although the time I was there, the campers were not allowed for safety, but as Adam points out RC will bring you a pile of dirt, Adam is also right about the Saturday night BBQ,, its something. We have tried to attend a few times only to be told sold out. Not sure how they work the in and out of RC thing. In the past, they would escort you in, you were in, no in and outs. As you get closer to departure, we can talk. Bill

Adam, Leo and William I went on my first day trip to Roaring Camp in 2006. This is where I caught gold fever. I have spent at least one week there every summer for the past four years. This July I'll be there for two weeks (I was there for three weeks last year, but that is a lot of time in camp). I love the place as well as the family who own and run the place. You can purchase a gold bearing pile and keep the gold you find (some of us call this 'tame gold') as well as go out on you own and look for the 'wild gold'. The campground sits on a 15 acre patented mine that the family owns. They also have a lease on 14 miles of river for your prospecting pleasure. The cost per week for the cabins is $700, going up some this spring. No electricity or running water in the cabins, but there are several restroom and shower buildings available (very clean). There is also a trading post on site. Hot sandwiches, pizzas, cold beers and a bar. We get together a few nights a week for fun and entertainment. This past summer was the first time my wife spent a week with me at Roaring Camp. She will be back this year. The Saturday night steak dinner and musical entertainment finishes off a good week of friendship and hard work. Keep all of the gold you find, and there is some great gold on this claim.

Leo, Very fine to nuggets Those of you going to Roaring Camp, there are two GPAA claims near by. One is about an hourish up hwy 88. On the way in to the GPAA claim is Pipi valley camp ground which is on the Consumnes River, a gold bearing river Last year the CG was $22.00 a night, I believe they even have a few hookups available (you may want to double check that if interested) Pipi is a federal forest circus CG with comp hosts As with RC, the river at Pipi runs high and cold early in the year, plan accordingly Pipi is a forest circus CG with camp hosts. There is also dispersed primitive camping , being that it is a national forest. With the rain and snow we are receiving this year, the rivers should be stirred up good by summer Bill

You all are confusing. If you want a roaring camp setup go to Roaring Camp. If you want an opinion about the LDMA spend the $4000 to join, otherwise shut your uneducated mouth. As far as the original poster. Learn to spell and put together coherent sentences. All you accomplished with your opening paragraph was prove your problem was you. The GPAA and LDMA aren’t perfect. We have 35000 members or so. There are personality conflicts and probably 34999 different opinions. As far as Claims and leases go. If you have any ideas for a claim or lease, e-nail your State Director, Me or Khoagland@goldprospectors.org and pass the info on. We have budget and a management commitment to add land this year and next. And I mean it doesn’t matter how little you have. If your gut says stop and pan every time you drive by, then share that. If you do t want to help, then shut up and live with those that work for or volunteer work out.

Kenny , I am well known for my terrible spelling. I joke they invented spell check for me. BUT I am not trying to sell anything here. Can I actually answer a question for you? As a non LDMA member, you don’t have enough information to have intelligent opinion on what the original poster had to say about the LDMA. Last I checked a FULL hookup at Stanton Camp was 12 a night and that is the most expensive camp. Duisenburg has no hookups at all and I am pretty sure their per night is $5. And that is to cover road maintenance and have the potable water tank filled weekly. Most of the other camps are $8 a night for water and electric and have a dum,station site or real close. And in some cases have made arrangements to have a service come out weekly. REMEMBER, THESE ARE MINING CAMPS, not KOA.
