I couldn't find a forum to post, so I'll post here in hopes of everybody being able to see it and it may be beneficial to new members.

    1. What are those dots below a users name (1-6 dots, yellow or green) ? What do they mean?

    2. Why is there no "General Discussions" forum for general Gold Prospecting or GPAA / LDMA discussions that don't fit into other forum categories?

    3. Everybody knows that the GPAA forums are very user UNFRIENDLY and sluggish and most likely the cause for lack of use by most members. I'd like to know who I can talk to to be part of any future re-development or re-design or improvements. I'm a professional software engineer (30+ years) and have a very good understanding for the need of usability in user interfaces. I'd be very happy to review any architecture updates, web interface designs, or improvements that you have planned and provide a sane and honest perspective.

Just wanted to add that I have seen a slight improvement on page loading times recently, so things do seem to be going in the right direction.

Green dot means the person is on line and signed in. Red means they aren't. It's mainly for chat purposes. Same applies on facebook on the messenger pages.

The dots indicate how active you are on the forums. I have posted over 450 times so have 5 green dots, some people have 3 or 2.

I see the online/offline dot after the name. Below are the 1-6 square dots, and some have stars. It seems to be related to how active and recently active over a period of time.  it's all cool, but I think if you hover over it should indicate something, just sayin...

Ed, post a bunch of pics one at a time, maybe pics of your Gold adventures, and you'll rack up a bunch of those green squares.

pretty sure it has to do with the amount of post you make. after so many you get another dot filled in or change color ect.. I would like to think they are more experienced people that have been here longer or just big chatter boxes. either way where status changes as well from panner to sluicer, highbanker ect.....

Hey All, thanks for all the responses. Glad to have some interaction. BTW, here in Deadwood, South Dakota at the Gold Show and having a great time.

I'll try posting some pics after my next adventure for sure.
