I went to GOLD PROSPECTORS 1, 2 & WARRIOR twice for 3 hours and found only nails and bullets so far. So I got few questions to save some time in the future.

    - Does this area contain any metal detectable gold? Does it worth trying there with metal detector?
    - Are there any other trails besides the one which starts at the picnic area?
    - Does anyone plan to go there soon? I could use some company.

FYI: I'm 33 and I'm new to gold prospecting.

    Hi Serhiy,

I haven’t been to those claims so I can’t answer your specific questions about that claim. But if you ever decide to head more North (San Bernadino/Kern counties), I’m almost always game for meeting up.

Hi Bill! I'll definitely try to contact you (not sure how though) if I'm ever in these counties. But I don't think it will be anytime soon (its like 4-5 hours drive).
I'll probably go there again this Saturday, I think I found a better path on the map.
While I'm there I'll do some 360 degrees photos of the area and publish on google maps (for other prospectors).

I didn't find any gold again, I'm starting to suspect that I don't know where to look for it. Or there is no big gold left. Anyways its too difficult to explore the area, I'll probably check other properties.

Is this aluminum nugget? Its too light for led, weights only 8 grams.

PS: I've uploaded like 7 360 degrees photos to Google maps along the creek. Also I met a small snake there :)

That sure looks like molten aluminum. When people camp out...its common to throw beer and soda cans into a campfire. This is likely the remains of just that. And even though it looks like a nugget, it confirms my suspicion that many gold nuggets get formed this way from the extensive forest fires that consume California, now and in the past. The carbon in the ground from past fires provides a good chemical environment for small particles of gold to flow into each other, and gradually grow in size over repeated fires.

Not really another way to get down to the creek without a very long walk.I learned after the 1st trip only carry what is needed! What a climb.Lots of poison oak.If that were cleared, chances would be better. Remember, 2 gold mines are just up the road.

Just went there for ~6 hours today, ran several buckets of crevice material--mix of dry and from a hand pump--and not a single flake. The water level was still decently high and the dense brush makes it tricky to go very far along the banks of the river. Any tricks from those who have found more than a few specks?

My boots were old and the soles of both came off, casualties of the warrior claim :)
