Were you up in the Northern Sierra's or Southern?  I am up in the Southern Sierra's often as we have a cabin there and also head up to Johnsondale a fair bit during the hot season.

I have worked all up and down both sides when the dwr would issue permits some years back.

The wildlife area is owned by the DWR.

We have had a lot of smoke from all the fires it's starting to clear up a bit now but it's been pretty hot still in the mid 90's so getting a early start would be your best bet !!!
