Since I left the service in 2018 I have been getting back into prospecting pretty hard... ( dream job to be a gold miner lol) and i have been having a hard time predicting the water levels, finding unclaimed areas, claim information to get in contact with the claim owner if I noticed something or wished to work the claim and split whatever is found. In any case i have slowly been finding websites to use to help with this and I have not been able to find any posts in the forum that has a good list of them so I am going to post ones I use and hope that others can add on.

----- this link will help you see water levels for your area, I was already one for the trinity river just before I decided to make a post. Now when you go to look at the current water levels it will only show you a few days, if you wish to see a year or more of the history at a time then you can click on the RSS link and be able to make a graph that shows you the rise and fall of the river you selected to see whens the best time to go out and not waste gas going out for just flood gold like I have done many times.

------Next is My land matters.... got to say one of the most useful tools personally. Get on and play with it. If you can donate a little to them to keep the site up for us prospectors.

------- For private lands or BLM lands, Google earth and other GPS's or websites do not show a whole lot, so I would suggest getting onXhunt. This app has some extremely detailed information on everything you could hope to know like who owns the land if its private, what the boundaries are and has full names and different layering for the maps. You can also save offline maps for those remote areas.

------- Keep it going if you have any useful links for the community!-------

    Brandon,

    Check out LR2000
Kinda tricky to use at first, operated by BLM (I believe) updates sometimes arent timely
Has information on open claims, closed claims, types of claims, types of minerals to mine way more info than you will want
Sorry dont have a URL, check it out
