I have a little flour gold in a plastic vial and static causes it to stick to the sides. Any way to get rid of the static other than using a glass vial ?

    Add water or vinegar
It will also will magnify the flakes making it more impressive to show off
Plastic makes it harder to see, glass has a tendency to break (been there done that)

    Bill,

I had water in my vials and took it out to weigh it. Decided to just leave it dry. Yea it does look impressive when wet.
I guess the lack of humidity makes it worse for static.

Static and plastic can be a problem. I keep a box of those "Static Control Sheets / Fabric Softener Sheets" they put in the dryer. Wipe all my plastic parts down with the sheets before using them and have very little problems with static and they smell good.

I'll have to give that a try sometime as I don't have any sheets at this time.

Did you wipe the inside of the vial as we

    Thanks

I take and roll up the end and push it in about a half inch and twist it around a little. I use those things any place I get static. Even on all my reloading stuff.

I like how the 1/2 oz. glass vials fit inside the 2 oz. plastic vials. The Gold stays safe even if you drop it.

I have also been informed that Vodka in the vial helps also.  If you have a large enough vial, it doubles as  a flask.

I use these plastic vials and they don't have too much problem with static, at least for me.

I buy the 1/2 oz version that come with a black top.

The 1/2 oz size is a skinny vial with regular size top. So it looks more impressive than the 1/2 and full dram glass vials.

I have been told you can also use the lens cleaner solution for cleaning eyeglasses. Use a Q-tip and swap the inside of the plastic vial with the solution and let it dry. I haven't tried it, as I use plastic (with water) in the field and glass for display at home. Hope this helps.
