Has anyone had any success panning for gold in the Yellowstone River? I live a couple of blocks away from in in the Billings, MT area.

Yup, the river does have gold, but all I can find so far is flour gold. I will post a pic when I get a chance.

I worked it in September 2018- We used a grasshopper- aka Homebuilt High banker with indoor/outdoor carpet - sieved a 20 screen to pan the flour gold- just get a pan from the gravely sand and check it out down by the river side- Yellowstone 16 miles upstream from Billings- John

When I first started prospecting, some 20 years ago, the Yellowstone was the first place I ever found gold. In the Miles City area. Since then have found more and it's very fine flour gold but heck.... it's gold!!
