Does anybody have any information about the Gold Claw gold pan?

Looks interesting and simple.  The videos I have seen look like it works great and fast.  Not sure if the videos are staged a little bit.

Anybody have one or have first hand experience with one?  Can it be used effectively for dry panning?

    Very curious.

I looked at the website and it appears that they are still in the "Kickstarter" funding campaign. I have not seen one in person.

I just received my Gold Claw .. I got in on a special 2 for one deal offered on GPS radio show a few weeks back. Definitely pricey .. hope to try it out this weekend and see how they work. The videos I've seen are all over the place. Private reviews seems more likely .. official videos are kinda cheesy and less informative.

I just sent my spare pan to another member who got 2 of the clear ones. I must say the off green color did make it difficult to see fine gold. The clear pan is supposed to let you see the action of the black sands and gold and how they interact when stratifying. Bonus is you can just look at the underside of the clear pan and see if there is any gold. I also just ordered a new 2017 model of the clear pan and expect it within a week or so. Overall, my first experiences are good, but I need more practice with it and a deeper tub to use it correctly. The standard black mud-tub folks use for panning is a bit too shallow for use. That's apparently why all the videos demonstrating it are in a taller round tub.

I'll know by Summer how much I like it. I've got a few bags from Lucky Strike in Marion NC to pan out and will use them for my tests. I do tend to lean more toward my mini-turbo pan for relaxing panning of paydirt and cons. I also prefer my no-riffle copper pan over everything, because I'm a bit nuts like that and enjoy the challenge.

I think once I reach the level of needing to perform dozens of test pans quickly to prospect out a river, the gold claw is going to be essential for that once I have the technique down.

I currently have a standard 14" Garrett, a banjo pan, and a le trap pan. I borrowed a gold claw but have yet to be able to test it out.

I have not seen the turbo pan. Interesting design for sure.

    Kinda curious what everyone prefers.
Seems like the banjo works great for dry pans and the trap works well for quick cons. I'm still fairly new and need more practice with each.

I have the pocket gold claw, it works great with gravels and sands but if you have heavy black sand then its just as challenging as any other pan.

The Gold Claw (medium size) is very good at finding gold! I have used it almost exclusively for the last year, and recovered quite a bit of gold from my tailings. They have come up with a larger size now, but for my uses, it is too large... Wish the medium size was a LITTLE larger, but not the size of the current size! Dave

I keep the pocket and standard in the rig for quick testing if I see something interesting. Nice if you're bucking brush, working your way up a tight stream. Recovery seems to be okay.
