Digital thermometer for smelting

    Want to measure temperature on my mini kiln and not sure what is best (for price) digital thermometer. Think hand held digital would be best for my situation. Any recommendations and where to buy are appreciated.

    Measuring temps in the 2200* F range
    I think you need to look for more than a hand held
    I believe you will need something that uses a thermocouple
    My Fluke IR hand held is good to 500*C = 930*F
    If it's gold your firing you need more temp capability
    Could be something out there in that range

    Hi Bill, Thanks for the reply, Yes I am smelting gold to take out impurities and mold my super fines into mini bars and buttons.
