We have been using a coiled (spiraled) PVC discharge hose on our 3" dredge. It seems to be developing a lot of leaks due to the rocks beating up the hose as they pass to the sluice. It's also really bulky.

Would a 3" heavy duty lay flat hose work better? Would it be flexible and durable enough to handle the rocks and other stuff the dredge sucks up?

One big advantage of a lay flat hose is It would certainly be easier to tote the the stream than the hose we are using now.

    Thanks for any input ----------------------------------

If you are set up with a jet flare, won't work, if you have the high pressure water at the nozzle, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Might try for some fire hose type and give it a try. Check with your local fire dept to see if they have any old laying around. Probably get it for nothing, and have plenty to replace as it wears.
