    Does any one know for sure if u can spot gold with a black light?

    No you cannot. However you can use a shortwave black light to spot minerals which are associated with gold. But finding these minerals does not mean that there will be any gold as well. its good to use as a tool to find the indicators which would lead you to possible gold deposits.

    If you do an internet search for "uv jewelry loupe " you will find some UV lights available for $11 or less delivered with batteries to your doorstep. These are NOT the shortwave mentioned above, but will show some UV mineral colors. The shortwave are a bit more pricey. The white light is good for looking at the gold because it brings out the colors, and the UV just does not stand out. I have access to a claim where there's a UV glowing minerals, but these are interesting and I collect a few, but are rather valueless. It gives something else to do out at the claim rock hunting wise besides just gold recovery.
