    Hello, I have a few questions as a new member. I just purchased a 3 year membership to the GPAA and plan on taking the wife and kids out to a claim this weekend to camp and pan a little for the first time. I am wondering if it is ok to have a campfire and maybe roast some marshmallows and hot dogs?

    Welcome to the GPAA.
    I would find out who manages the land, BLM, NFS, or the state you live in. Give them a call and find out the regulations for the area you will be camping in.
    Sounds like a good time. May your pan turn yellow !

    Welcome to GPAA!

    A mineral claim only pertains to mineral prospecting and extraction. All other activity is governed by the managing agency of that land.
