Im from western ky. Born and raised here.
Have recently been given the freedom to enjoy
Outdoor life. Would like to pan or sluice and learn
The basics. Eventaully would like to dredge.
I have a 6 and 8 year old that would love to accompany me but i refuse to let them until i find a safe and reliable place.

Welcome and greetings from CA! Hopefully, the kids enjoy it as much as we do.
I’m also a greenhorn and from what I can discern thus far, your ability to decide WHERE to prospect will be key even when working on a claim known to have gold.
Lots of good information on YouTube for that. Have fun and happy prospecting!

look for the nererest chapter for your area and go to the meeting and get to know people .most chapters have some of thier own claims and have outings that realy do help in your area.

Welcome from Northern California. We have a place in Cadiz, Kentucky so maybe the next time we are out there we can meet up. I would like to know about where to look for gold back there plus places to metal detect. Joining a local club will really help. Looking for gold is a great family experience. Good luck.
