A few years ago , my buddy Rob and myself were taking a fishing trip to Canada, and I explained that I was taking a stream sluice, a few tools and some pans with us to prospect for gold. So we were having a blast catching lots of fish, seeing a lot of moose and exploring the bush. We came upon a spot on a creek that was strewn with quartz boulders and some red coloring to the walls. We started probing around and found some likely areas ,we thought ,for gold to drop out .After a good portion of an hour Rob calls me over. He had three gold nuggets in one pan, about the size of peanut M&M's. I looked at them knowing it just can't be this easy, yet here they where. Upon grabbing one, I did like I had seen in the movies and bit down on it and it cracked exposing a pinkish center. Not really knowing what it was and wanting to unravel the mystery , was trying to figure out who I would need to call to help me with this confusing event. That's when the culprit came clean. Rob finally told me that when I had told him of my prospecting plans, he had grabbed three pieces of gravel and spray painted them gold. He stated ,I never thought that you would bite the rock in half.
