Worked about 3 hours with my Goldmonster 1000. Some trash, lots of hot rocks. Then the detector hit. After digging I found a smaller piece of granite with quartz. This set off the detector in the non-ferrous range. the target I had been digging. The rock was about 1.5" X1" and slightly heavier than other rocks in this size. One face of the rock set off my pinpointer, but nothing was visible to my old eyes. I took the rock home and under magnification there are a few spots of gold on the surface. Found south east of center of claim 35.09417,-117.07526 Approx.
Drywashed a couple tailings piles, about 20 gallons each and found 26 smaller flakes, mostly fine. Average has been 3-4 flakes per 5 gallon bucket of tailings. It appears most washes have been worked and reclaimed.
