Georgia's Famous Gold

Throughout the hills of northern Georgia, the spirit of gold fever is all around. Tom takes a visit to the Dahlonega Gold museum where amazing gold specimens, equipment and pictures tell the story of America’s first real gold rush back in the 1800’s. Tom makes his way under ground over at the Consolidated Gold Mine home to what is known as the “Glory Hole” which is one of the worlds largest quartz veins every found. After a very informative visit Tom heads out to GPAA’s Load mine property.

With just a couple of days to go before another amazing week long outing at the Load Mine, Tom gets in a little prospecting. There is some very rich dirt and red clay to be found all over the property. Tom pulls out his highbanker to get a good start on finding gold for the outings common operation. Will he find any of that famous Georgia gold? Just wait and see!
