It’s the Motherlode! As Tom takes us down to the beautiful streams of the GPAA’s motherload expedition in sunny California, Tom and his brother Parry shows us the tricks to “Cracking” as the old prospectors would say. The river deep down in the canyon had flooded years ago, leaving lots of good gold scattered around the area. Perry Massie gives us some of his techniques of extracting the gold from cracks in the bedrock “Cracking”. We can see everything from braking up the rock to what are the best tools for each job.
Joined by a few members of the GPAA, Tom takes a break from the crevassing to visit with his fellow prospectors and exchange some of there prospecting stories. Tom get’s into one particular story of prospecting with his father which ended with a nice amount of gold and what they used to find it. This is a great chance to learn a few tricks.
