The past few days have shown just how respectful most of our members can be, thank you for helping with some very positive suggestions in your e-mails.

Hello to all, I'm really new to all this forum thing, just signed-in last night as a matter of fact. Anyways, I have not seen any "bashing" as of yet, but do whole heartly agree that it should not be allowed, or accepted in any form. If there is a "real" problem, I believe it should be taken to a person of authority in this organiziation as an email or phone call, or even person to person, maybe at a show or outing. I have always be treated "real good" by any and all of the people who work with or at these shows. I belong to this organiziation (GPAA) knowing that there are a lot of other "clubs" out there and not because its the biggest, but because I believe it to be the best of them for our rights and for what they offer us for our bucks... Thank you for your time and hope to see you out there one day....

Dear Moderator.
you can stop the bad language and some of the nastys on your forum. but it looks like all is well now if you need any help let me know . Im happy to help.

but you would have to go to admin controls. you can take out Bad language . by typing in words not to be used . on one of my lists LOL the guy that owned the list hated Cactus so he changed that word to week.
you can change some of the nastys to different words . On my forum the bad words go to Like love hugs bratts.
and that really makes people laugh and sometimes the intruder or person who is angry will leave or realise he isnt winning with the nastys. Tammy

Hi All,
I am new here. recently joining the GPAA due to this site's quality and presentation of information. I'm looking forward to being more involved in the club, once I learn something about the actual hobby.   I haven't seen much negativity in the posts I've read or come across, so possibly the offending content has been removed?  I do agree with a prior post in that a list of dos and don'ts and rules should be posted alo9ng with expected repurcussions for ignoring them.  That simply empowers the mods to do their jobs without accusations of personal attacks and bias.  I run a few of these boards and I'm involved with a few other organizations and all of them have written forum rules, some of which we have written into our club's bylaws, too.

The other reason to do this is due to what a wide base this organization has.  There are people from all walks of life involved.  So what is perceived as "foul" to some people might not be to others, etc.  For that reason we use the feature of these forums that swaps a word or phrase for a "foul" word that is included on the list of no-no words.  Personally, I am not offended by ANYTHING and don't care about the use of cuss words.  But that's just me.  Others feel differently and I respect that right as well.

Well, nuff words from me!
Take care,
Brian

For the most part we look out for each other on the form.

With almost 4,000 form members there are times that someone will get out of hand, but when that happens after a time one of the other members or there friends will send them a pm asking to let things cool down a little, and for the most part that is what happens, there are times that things get out of hand and some will not let up, that's when the Mod will start to get alot of pm's from other members to step in and cool things down or in last resort remove the trouble maker, that is what I like about this form we all moderator each other.

Its a good Form, with Good Info. Good Helpful People, and some Good Friends...
Don't get much better than that...

I agree - some of the jokes are getting a bit raw - there are junior prospectors logging in too.
