Beautiful Day. Temps were perfect. Our GPS stopped when the cell signal stopped so we didn't wander about too much, but we played at the little pond upstream of the road crossing - about the center of the claim. The pond gave me some panning water, and there was some possible places to scout. I did some pans from inside-curve just upstream of the pond - nada but a TON of mica which made things really difficult. My wife pulled a bit from some crevices which I processed at home - nada. I pulled some from the rock-fall crevice/wash - nada.
Things would have been worth it, even without finding anything - except for the flies. Biting flies. Tons of biting flies. Next time - bring DEET! or whatever repellent you want.
Other than the flies, and the mica, it was a fun day!
