Hi, I am brand new to gold prospecting. I am in Southern California for a few weeks and wanted to try some panning and sluicing. Does anyone know any good spots I could try. I have been watching videos to help me learn and I am very excited to start any help that you could give would be very much appreciated thank you.

    Hey Joseph,

Welcome to Southern California! Not sure where you are exactly, but there are a number of chapters here that are all very active and willing to help out any new and experienced prospectors.

Here are some of their names and links with more information:

The Temecula Valley Prospectors - http://www.goldprospector...ome/ChapterId/TEMECA
    The Hemet Chapter - http://www.goldprospector...ome/ChapterId/HEMECA
The San Diego Treasure Seekers - http://www.goldprospector...ome/ChapterId/SANDCA
The Golden Valley Prospectors - http://www.goldprospector...ome/ChapterId/BAKECA
and The Route 66 Gold Miners - http://www.goldprospector...ome/ChapterId/BREACA

You can also go to our Chapter Directory for California to see the entire state list: http://www.goldprospector...r-Directory?state=CA

Hope this helps and good luck out there!
