CALL IN NOW TO GET REGISTERED FOR ONE OR MORE 2015 GPAA-LDMA GOLD MINING OUTINGS!

For more than 30 years, the GPAA in conjunction with the LDMA has been running common gold mining operations designed for our members to come together and find gold. The outings are an opportunity for members and their families to come out and enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship of other prospectors and get a chance to meet some of the staff members from GPAA-LDMA headquarters, as well as gaining an education on how to recover more gold.

These gold mining outings offer participants the opportunity to be involved in a hands-on approach to learning all aspects of gold recovery - From Pile to Final Pan.

The GPAA has acquired a great deal of equipment (trommels, wash plants, highbankers, drywashers, and various gold recovery clean-up equipment), that participants will be using alongside Outing Staff and Outing Crew members, that will allow participants to experience all aspect of gold recovery.

Participate in lectures and demonstrations that have in the past covered topics such as panning, sluicing, metal detecting, filing claims, dowsing, general prospecting and even the open question and answer sessions, the topics are ever changing

If we cannot be there during the outing, but come up, is there equipment that we can use or rent on the premises and if so what?

Hey Gary, In answer to your question, yes you need to contact the GPAA/LDMA and pay for your spot ahead of time, there are no walk-ups allowed. You can either pay for a 5 day ticket which goes from wed to sun, or a 3 day ticket which is good for fri to sun.

Dominic & Paul- I would like to attend the LDMA 2015 April Stanton Outing. I plan to attend for three days as a GPAA member. I need to confirm that the three days are Friday to Sunday as I will be flying into Phoenix from Dalas, TX on Southwest with reward points. Flying between Dallas and Phoenix on a Friday or Sunday is next to impossible even 4 to 8 weeks in advance due to the high cost. Flying in on Thursday and out on Monday is very doable with a low fare on a nonstop flight. This is critical to my attendance. Can you confirm?

Hey Gary, Because its less than 2 months away (and Stanton fills up quickly), the best thing to do at this point is call the office and talk to someone to help you with all the details. Paul

    Hi Gary,
Yes the 3-day starts at 8am Friday and ends around noon on Sunday. You need to get checked in Thursday afternoon, or at 7am Friday morning so that you are ready to work the common dig shift.

Please call my Outings Team at 888-GOLD(4653)-717 between 8 and 4:45 PST M - F and 8 to 11am PST on Saturday to secure your spot.

Tell my team that your my personal friend and you want your space .....haha.

    See you at Stanton.

    Bruce,

I'm not an employee of GPAA just a member but I wouldn't think there would  be equipment to use if you weren't there during an outing. I would imagine that all the highbankers and other equipment goes back to home office in Temecula, CA to be used at various other outings. I don't know your background but I'm guessing you're rather new to prospecting. If so, then you should try to attend one of these scheduled outings to get your feet wet. There are people there to assist you as well as there being equipment for participants to use. If you're an LDMA member visiting an LDMA camp at times other than the outings you're pretty much on your own so to speak. There are camp caretakers who can assist you to a certain degree and may be able to scrounge up a piece of equipment for you to use, but they don't have equipment rentals. Most LDMA members have their own equipment to run. If you don't have any equipment you might check out a GPAA Gold Show and pick up something there. It's a great place to find all sorts of equipment at one place. I hope that helped and good luck!

Doing a GPAA-LDMA Gold mining outing is a must do for anyone. Especially if you are new to prospecting. The community spirit on these digs is contagious and everyone is more than willing to teach and help you. Kevin Hoagland and Dominic spent hours with us sharing knowledge. Brandon Johnson was at the dig I went too and he was out with all of us helping clean the cons from the highbankers. You could hear people laughing at stories and jokes all weekend long. I recommend everyone do at least one of these in their lifetime. I am looking forward to June in Georgia and North Carolina.

At Scott Bar where is the closest place to get one of the two types of short term fishing licenses? Driving in from way out of town it would help to know.

GPAA members . . . this is an opportunity to be a part of a Gold Mining Common Dig at Scott Bar LDMA camp. Not only will there be Gold, but maybe the Earl Bunny will leave a golden egg for Easter. There's 24 registered GPAA members so far, but I believe we can double that number before the outing starts. Call in to the Outings Team and register @ 888-GOLD(4653)-717

    Bruce,

You should contact the camp you are interested in regarding equipment rental. Each camp is different and has different amenities. Here at Burnt River Camp we do have equipment that we sometimes rent by the day but that is subject to the fuel we have on hand for the pumps as well as if one of us will be available to assist you.

    Good Luck!

GPAA-LDMA Gold Mining Outings are upon us. Can't wait to meet everyone that participates. Outings are a great place to have some family and friends join you and learn how to recover gold. Outings are so much more than gold.....I encourage you to register and come see what it is all about.

In advance, caretakers, thank you for all your hard work to prepare the camps for a mini Gold Rush! I know you put many many hours in to prepare for 100 participants and some friends and family to converg on the camp.

Get ready for the Triple "E" ...
    Excitement...
    Education .....
an Experience that you will think about for weeks months years afterward.

    Let's ge Mining!

Thanks Joseph, you are very helpful. It's certain I'm not the only childhood poacher wanting to change our ways.

have to find room for a trip out of Hawaii now.
