Just joined and have been looking thru the claim guide. When I put GPS numbers into google earth it puts the claim on the east side of the wash the claim guide shows it on the west side. Am I doing something wrong? Please help with any info I don't want to prospect where I should not be. I plan on using a recirculating sluice any tips or specifics to look for before I start digging or how to pick a spot. Thank in advance hope to see some of you fellow members out there. Tim

I think you might need to use the coordinates of GPS setup format of DMS which is degrees, minutes, seconds. Not sure if the Datum is WGS84 or NAD27 or if that even makes a difference. When are you going out to Goler? Were you originally signed up for the Duisen dig? I was planning on still going to the area, but now I think I may just try the Pine Nut mountains in Nevada or Yerington area.

Thank you for the info a friend of mine has a gps he is going so we should be good now we're planning on sat 15 just for the day. I hear a lot about the Goler area any info on the next claim over Iron Canyon. Like I said total newbie but really interested. Went to middle fork Lytle Creek last Sat after the rain found some little tiny pieces and powder looking gold. A lot of fun.
