    Hey guys,

Sounds like there are allot of questions about detectors and their settings. Does anyone have suggestions about outings we can set up with chapters/members/manufacturers to provide hands on instruction? I know there are representatives from the detector manufacturers that would be interested in attending if we were to organize something. Any chapters already have events planned that might benefit if a manufacturer were willing to help organize and promote?

    Look forward to any feedback.

Brandon--Might get hold of Wendy and Roy at the Brownsville chapter.  They work with Cabella's in Springfield, OR with a panning booth several times a year, and are members of a detecting club as well.  Might be something the chapter would be interested in, and Whites is right next door to us.  I know I would like more info on the one I have, but have not used that much.

I'll mention it at the meeting this coming Sunday (April 6th) and see if there is any interest to feed back to you through Wendy and Roy.

***EDIT***   Brought it up at the meeting, and Roy will probably be getting hold of you.  If not, touch base with him.

    Arthur

Thank you for the suggestion. I would be very interested in an opportunity to support educational offerings for detecting technologies. I look forward to hearing from Roy and Wendy. Hopefully we can set something up and promote it amongst our membership. I believe we may also be able to generate support from manufacturers and their reps. Anyone else interested?

Brandon We would like to do an outing. We have two different parks we could use. The one here in Brownsville Or. is a good place to do one it is about five miles off of I5 and has overnight dry camping from April to the end of September. It also has a kitchen area that is available to rent. The other one is in Albany Or. it is about a 1/4 mi off of I5 Right next to the Linn County Fair Grounds and is open year round. There are a couple of RV parks that are close to it and about five different hotels too. You can E-mail me at midvalleyprospectors@yahoo.com or call me at 541-990-1148
    Thanks

Can't believe that any other chapters, especially those in "detecting country" have not chimed in to try and work something out.

Might be worthwhile to bet with the makers and see what they would like to do...........
