Hello All, we are considering moving to the New Bern area of North Carolina. Can anyone advise on the opportunities available for panning in this area, if any?

Yes David we have been watching the terrible events unwind very closely. Just hope everyone is safe and the ordeal ends soon. We are due to fly out there to look at houses in two weeks time.

We have a rental about ten miles south of New Bern. No one knows if it is even still there. It is out in the country a ways and there is not only flooding but the roads are blocked by downed trees. At least the tenants evacuated ahead of landfall...

David, hope you find your rental is still intact. Hopefully it was sheltered and on higher ground. We planned our visit to New Bern weeks ago. We are still considering whether or not to postpone due to Florence, but feel as though it is nearly two weeks away, so hopefully the roads will be back above floodwater. I know that it will take a lot longer for people to piece their lives back together.
