    Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. I am brand new and decided to buy a membership on a whim because I have always had a interest in gold and panning for it. Also, living in the southwest with mining very common in the area has always peaked my adventure side. Needless to say I am excited to get out and start learning and finding gold. I don't have high expectations and my job allows me 35 days where I don't have to work when I am in the State so I plan on being as active as I can be while I have the time. I also watch a lot of YouTube videos but take everything with a grain of salt and the main reason of signing up on here was to have the materials needed to learn, readily available. I look forward to seeing you guys out and about.

        -Brandon

    Hey Brandon,

I live in Goodyear, have been a member for several years, but never went to a meeting (i really need to) but I have a dry washer (battery operated Keene) and don't have a lot of time either, I tried a couple of times in the Belmont mountains, but only a few specks, I'm not real good at it and could probably use some guidance myself. If you are interested sometime, let me know maybe we could hit the claim together.  take care and good luck.

Hello fellow newbies in the Phoenix area. I just joined this week and I will probably stick to metal detecting for gold and silver. I am looking forward to going out with the local club to see how to do the various types of gold hunting. Maybe I will see you out on a claim someday.

it will probably be better once it cools off, but this morning started out nice at 76 deg, pretty hot right now, I have never done the metal detecting, I should try that also. I see it is helpful in check your tailings to see if you missed any big stuff.

    Hey Jerome,

I'll have the whole month of October off and plan on hitting some of the Association's claim (Vulture Bait and Golden Gobbler) and a few other places up North.

I am in Dallas, Texas but frequent Quartzite, Congress, Wickenburg and Morristown in January and February.

You guys have a great GPAA chapter in Phoenix. On vacation one year I attended their meeting and was really impressed. Can not wait to get back to Arizona.
