      I will start it off.

This is a 5 pesos coin I found in Poncho Villa state park NM while detecting.

I was using a Whites XLT and it was only about 3" deep.

Here's one that really got me. I was looking for a gold bar cache. One of the gold bars was supposed to be cut up. I was following an old RR grade when the detector really hit a large target. I started digging and saw 'gold'. I took the bar to the jewelers for a checkup. He gave it the acid test. It was starting to look good when the acid suddenly turned light green. He said it was a high grade of bronze. I took it home and mounted it to bring back the initial pleasant thoughts. Frank...-

That is a great coin find and it is disappointing that the gold bar turned out to be only bronze. Is it still worth anything?

That is great finds!!! I have only been out twice and had a blast finding spencer shell casings and a old spent round ball. I found two little peaces of gold as well on my buddy's claim that day as well but the round ball and cases really made my day because I have some old original muzzleloaders and spencers from the area. My buddy had been detecting that area for twenty five years and never found any gold with his detector. I love my minelab and am sure that I will love it more when I learn how to use it.

A load of pleasant memories. I mounted it on the black walnut plaque.  Frank

Well, back in the 70s, I bought an old Whites S63TR Goldmaster. I tested it out at an old abandon estate and my first find was a $5 gold US coin. Frank

A nice handful and 3 of them were out of the same hole... I have found more and bigger over the years but, this day still stands out for me.
