Hello All, Paul here. I live in East Point, Ga. (in between Atl and the airport). My wife and I are LDMA members, we belong to the Buchanan, Ga Chapter of the GPAA.
Chapter meetings are the 2nd Sat of each month from Mar-Nov.
Also members of the SGMA ( Southern Gold Miners Assoc.), made up of mostly GPAA members who meet and take care of the GPAA Buchanan claim.

I have a homemade Gold Hog highbanker/ 2" dredge combo, and a 10 x 36 stream sluice with a 22" super flare, and a 7 x 30 stream sluice, all fitted with Gold Hog mats. Also have some 2" sucker tubes, and classifiers.

Looking to meet prospecting buddies/partners to go out mining with, as my wife doesn't always want to go. Don't have to be LDMA/GPAA members, as I can take guests with me. (guests on a GPAA claim or LDMA camp can only pan and sluice in the creek/river, unless helping a member run equipment like a dredge or a highbanker) Also looking to go to Ala. Gold Camp soon.

I'm retired, so I can go just about anytime, (as long as no Doc's appointments). I can camp, as I have a pop-up camper.

Only thing is when my truck is loaded, my truck is LOADED. So transportation is necessary if you have alot of equipment, or more than one person is going along. If you're just panning or sluicing, or going along as a guest, my truck is doable.

Hi. Sue and Stewart Smith from Alabama. We're about 2 hours from you. Been to the Alabama Gold Camp. Some Real good people there. Haven't been any other places as of yet. Plans for the future to check out a few other sites not too far from us. WE are weekenders unless the Hubby has other obligations. We have the Gold Hog. Love it Lots of equipment that he knows about and I don't But would enjoy checking out new and different. We have our own equipment and no problems with transportation. Also have a 24 ' camper. Have a Great Day. Sue

Hi, Tim Leibel in Milton FL,by way of California a month ago. about 4- hours from you but also semi retired and would love to make the drive up to meet some others and have some fun. I am a GPAA member so I can also bring guests. I am pretty new but have a 24 Inch sluice and a Royal MFG Highbanker/recirc setup that is great as it is easy to carry around, plenty of pans, classifiers, buckets etc to set up a whole gang of people or kids. My wife and I are looking into a toy hauler setup so we can also camp.

Hey all, there is also a great GPAA Chapter based on the Buchanan Claim and maintain it. Here is their website http://www.sgma.webs.com/. I understand their monthly meeting is next Saturday. I am planning to go to meet the club and join them if I can.

    Hi Paul,

My name is Richard. I live in NC. I was hoping to come to the buchanan claim as part of my summer Vacation. I hope to camp and dredge for 3 days or so. I have a 2.5 inch gold buddy dredge, right now it is suction but I hope to have it "rigged as a powerjet by then(its not too important but thats the plan. I am working the bugs out @ Thermal City gold mine in NC. I have went 3 times and went from having a rock overloaded set-up to actually finding a tee-tiny nugget. : ). I am a gpaa member. Anywho I was hoping you knew what I was getting into should I go there. THX

Prospector / miner . Blairsville Georgia . Allan geldean. Let's go Gold Getten ... Contact me if you need a Gold grubbin buddy in the north Georgia mountain areas. Flexible schedule. Gold sluice , panning or detecting is fine with me.

    Hi Mike !
Check your Mining guide. The LDMA Loud mine is about 2 miles down/upthe Town Creek Rd from the
    GoldnGem on Abbé Helton Rd.
The Loud Mine has 50 RV water/electric hookups. It also has a bath house, a RV dump station,
on site camp managers. Facilities for panning, high bankers, and dredging. There is $8 per night
Camp fee for the full hookup. $3 per night for a dry camp. No hookups. But, the water, bath house
And meeting house facilities are available to all.
The camp meeting house has a nice kitchen, satellite tv, and a coffee pot that always seems to be on.
The camp managers are great! "Croc" is the greatest friend and camp manager you will ever meet.

The GoldnGem use to offer camping. Wonder if it just doesn't offer RV camping during the winter.
They are just downstream from the Loud Mine. Next door neighbors, eh?

Well, enjoy and POR - Press On Regardless!

    Cristien

The Buchanan farm lease is still a valid claim. Curvins Cow Pasture in Alabama is about an Hour Southwest of there and also is still open. It was recently added to. If you are on Facebook please come join https://www.facebook.com/groups/143722272832584/ A Florida GPAA/LDMA group to share information.

Cristien, if you can go next weekend, you should. The chapter at Buchanan are great folks. I am a member though I don't get to see them much due to my crazy life. You will have a great time and learn a lot about Southeast gold.
