The Whippet Drywasher is a 15 lb drywasher including the drywasher, the backpack and the battery.

Computer designed and manufactured with Aerospace materials.

Go where others can't go - go with a Whippet Drywasher!

    Thanks Michael and Ronald

The unit is so new that not many have seen it in person, but those who have liked it very much.

My goal from the beginning was to design and build a no compromise backpack drywasher that really could get prospectors to areas where no others can go. I used a lot of Aerospace methods for the design and the build, but I also wanted to use a system or process approach to using the drywasher.

The "System" is the Whippet Drywasher, a short pick, a lightweight shovel (as seen on the YouTube videos), a bag for the concentrates and of course a bottle of water and a Power Bar.

There are many good short picks on the market, but light weight shovels are scarce. The shovel I use, which I will also sell. weighs less than 2 lbs. It is constructed of aluminum with a plastic handle and telescopes down to reduce the length. To bring home the concentrates I use a urethane coated bag instead of a bucket.

It will be fun to get these units into the hands (on the backs) of some crazy adventurous prospectors and see what they can do with them.

I am just starting on the production units and hope to have a few at the Gold & Treasure Shows this year.

For those who are really interested, I will be happy to take their name and contact them as the units become available.

As we mentioned before, the Whippet Drywasher is part of a "System" that enables you to prospect in remote areas.

Here are  two additional pieces that make up the system; the shovel and the concentrates bag.

The shovel is made from aircraft aluminum and weighs 1.75 lbs. It telescopes from 36" down to 30" and also disassembles if you need to go smaller.  (This shovel is a scooping shovel and is intended to be used in conjunction with a short pick).

The concentrates bag is made from coated rip-stop nylon and weighs 2 oz. It is designed to fit the Riffle Tray of the Whippet Drywasher.  To insure that no fine gold is lost, all the seams are tape sealed and  a rolled closure is used.

In the near future we will show you a couple more pieces that make up the "System", so please check back to this thread.

We completed testing on the solar charger for the Whippet Drywasher K2 Battery. We were very happy with the results in performance and usability. With the Whippet Drywasher, K2 Battery and solar charger, you can effectively prospect a remote area for days or even longer.

The charger is rated 15,4 volts, 30 Watts at 1.8amps, which can charge the K2 battery in as little as 3 hours. The unit folds from, 47" x 25" down to 13" x 7" and weighs less than 2 lbs.

Because the K2 Battery has intelligent circuitry built in, the solar charger can be connected directly to the battery without using a charge controller. This is both simpler and lighter.

This charger is very rugged, there is even a video of the unit being shot 12 times with a gun and it keeps on working at 90% efficiency.

We will be offering this charger as an accessory to the Whippet Drywasher.

    Regards,

We recently went camping with the Whippet Drywasher.

The claim that we worked is only accessible by hiking in, no motorized vehicles are allowed.

We brought 15 lbs of gear and water along with the Drywasher, making for a packed weight of 30 lbs. The Whippet Drywasher design allows gear to be loaded in many different ways. The tent went on the top, the solar charger inside the Riffle Tray, water and sleeping bag on the bottom, Thermarest pad on the side and the shovel on the Hopper.

The area we mined shows pretty good gold and because there is only foot access to this area there are many places that have no mining activity.

This is the kind of situation that we created the Whippet Drywasher for. We want to provide a true backpack mining solution that will open up these remote areas to prospecting.

We have a short video up on YouTube that shows our trip.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Whippet Engineering LLC booth at the Pomona Gold and Treasure Show.

It was nice to meet and talk with all of you.

The GPAA put on a good show with goodies at the door and prizes everyday. There was a good crowd of people from little kids to 90 year old seniors.

The Route 66 Gold Miners were raffling gold nuggets and getting the crowd fired up. I am sure they hooked a few newcomers to Prospecting.

It was also fun to see the gold nuggets the Aussies from G & J Nuggets brought up from Australia. It was amazing to hold a 20 oz nugget in my hands!

    Cheers,
