Hello everyone,  I thought I would just make my first post a hello from a new member. I hope to gain invaluable knowledge from the fellow members here. I have heard good things about the  GPAA and look forward to being a part of the nationwide membership.   Thanks.

Welcome. The best advice I can give you is to find a chapter close to your location. Members there will make you feel right at home, and you have brains to pick and make the learning curve a lot less steep. Plus you can get on chapter outings and trips and see other equipment at work and decide how hard the bug wants to bite.

Thanks gentlemen, I have been doing most of my research for Arizona for a little over a year. Relatives in the Phoenix area let us stay this past November and we had a blast on pubic panning areas and a few areas I researched. I'm pretty much bitten up by the gold bug and driving my wife crazy.

Welcome" if you're in the Phoenix area, there are a lot of good clubs to contact and get to know! They are full of great people and they aren't afraid to share knowledge with you. The monthly outings are fun, you get to meet people and learn a thing or two! Good luck and welcome!

Welcome. I hope your membership will be as rewarding as mine. I have met some fantastic people and anything that gets you outdoors is awesome. Good luck and keep in mind... there is a learning curve. Be patient.

Hi all: My wife got me a membership for my birthday. Now I'm retired and visiting spots in OR, WA & CO. Great book with membership has led to fun in the woods and helped me introduce a few people to panning at public spots.

Welcome to the GPAA, I hope you enjoy you membership. Remember there is a learning curve when it comes to finding this shinny stuff. There are lots of good members that will help if you just take a little time to ask how, or where to look. If you should decide to visit Arizona, I will do what I can to help. The part I find best about the GPAA is the people I have met and now call friends.

Welcome to the GPAA James and Steve! There are several chapters in the Phoenix area, and you can join more than one chapter here on the GPAA, so don't hesitate to join both chapters here and learn a lot. I'm a member of the Gold Fever of the West Valley and they are an awesome group of people. They have their meetings on the second Thursday of every month.
