Hi Frankie... I realize this is info you needed earlier this month but I ran across your post and if you go back or maybe this info will help someone else... I used to live in Fox Park, Wyo. and the Douglas Creek Placers are the best in Wyo. and the GPAA has a couple of claims there... they are open for prospecting from July 1 to Sept. 10th... All streams in the Medicine Bow National Forest are closed the rest of the year to protect trout spawning habitat... If you want to pan or sluice elsewhere in the National Forest you need to contact the Laramie Ranger District at 2468 Jackson Street in Laramie and fill out a letter of intent and carry it with you... The streams above 10,000 ft., run off from the Glacier on HWY. 130 between Centennial and Saratoga have gold in them... also the gravely dirt around Jelm Mt. on the Big Laramie River close to Woods Landing have gold... Ask at the ranger station in Laramie if you can pan on the Big Laramie at Jelm at the public fishing access... Years ago I hiked Sheep Mt. and caught a ride from some folks from Cheyenne that filled a 35mm film canister fanning the sand with a Frisbee below a big boulder in the river and wearing a snorkel and mask using their fingers to get the pickers... metal detecting around Encampment Wyo. might be worth your time... There is a high bench of river gravel in that area and one guy from town told me he just detected around the outskirts of Encampment and over the years had found hundreds of pieces of dry placer gold... Hope this helps you or someone else... Anyone that lives out there and sees this may correct anything I may be wrong about because it has been several years since I lived out there and things may have changed...

Excellent... Did you have any luck on your trip the first of the month? I was planning a trip out there this July myself, but atm am not sure I can make it... I was out there last summer but did no prospecting... I love that area though... If I were half my age and healthy that's where I'd be living now... At any rate, good luck...

We went to the Arkansas River next to bueana vista Colorado, Found lots of gold dust and small flakes. I'm new to this so getting the small pieces form the dirt is a problem. Panning is just not working. So I ordered a blue bowl concentrator  and i'll see how that does. We are going back the end of July or beginning of august and we will try our luck close to albequerque nm too. We will get to spend more time this time. We got rained out last time.
