    Hi all,

I could use some help. I'm totally new. Went to the Little Jo and Little Jo 2 claims in Socorro County NM. The directions in the mining guide were very close so I found the road easily. The claim was to be about 6.33 miles after the highway turnoff. The road even had markers every .35 mile. I thought piece of cake as the actually goes through part of the claim from the map. When I got to the 6.25 mile marker I went very slowly to look for anything posted. Nothing, so I went back past the start and drove it 2 more times before giving up. I did not get out and look around because I didn't want to digging somewhere I shouldn't. Better safe than sorry. I'm wondering if all claims have corner markers? Is this still a GPAA claim. I have the 2014 guide and haven't gotten and Pick and Shovel to see if is no longer a GPAA claim. I want to learn how to do this right so I welcome any and all comments and suggestions.

Thank all of you in advance.

    Gary

Pat the south end of the claim the road makes a 90º left. If you turn around and go about 900' back to north you will be on the claim. If you travel about 1150 feet further you should see an area on the east side of road that has been used for camping, this is about half way through the claim. Hope that helps, if you look on google earth you can see the sharp left real easy and the campsite also about 2000 feet for that road (use path on google earth and follow the road with multiple points. Hope this helps, if you have a smart phone you can download GPS Status app (android) for free that gives gps coordinates off satellites. Download in area with good cell service.
