So when test panning spots with a few pans here and there. What would make you what to start working a spot?
A speck or two per pan ?
    6 specks or so ?
What's a good test pan to start working a spot to bedrock or hard pan.

A good test pan is 4+ tiny pieces, and test behind & under a rock with a reddish brown gravel. It's tightly packed in with the round river rocks. Don't bother with loose sand, it's just over burden.

    Ok
Think I've found a spot to work then at the San Luis Obispo claim on one of the benches.
There's a little bit of water there now so I'd like to get down there and do some power sluicing. And see what I get.
It's hard old river/creek gravel and boulders time to break out the pick and wash some rocks
