Trumps selection to head up the EPA seems like a great choice which might work well for you dredgers. Scott Pruit is very combative with the EPA. "Representing his state as attorney general since 2011, Pruitt has repeatedly sued the EPA to roll back environmental regulations and other health protections. He joined with other Republican attorneys general in opposing the Clean Power Plan, which seeks to limit planet-warming carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants. Pruitt has argued that curbing carbon emissions would trample the sovereignty of state governments, drive up electricity rates, threaten the reliability of the nation's power grid and "create economic havoc."

I think we will see a big change coming!

I absolutely love the Sierra Club's reaction...."like putting an arsonist in charge of firefighting"

Who better understaands fire than the guy who sets them?

Looking for better days, still waiting on picks for Interior and Ag Secretaries............

The Sierra Club needs to be sent back to the ice age where they belong. The tree hugging environmentalist whackos lost. My advise to you (Sierra Club) is...'Do what your parents did, get a job...The bums will always lose.' The Gold mines & prospecting areas will be re-opened & tree hugging Commies (like Earth First) should be arrested for interfering with Federal Mining Claims.

A copy of the Mining law of 1872 should be sent to the Sierra Club with the words 'Get used to disappointment Sierra Club, Americas forests are open to Americans again'.

winners posted this elsewhere and I thought it needs to be shared here with it's own thread

U.S. Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers from Washington state has been picked for Department of the Interior

    A good artcile on it

It follows Trump's nomination this week of an another climate change skeptic and critic of federal regulations, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, to run the Environmental Protection Agency.

Representative McMorris Rogers, is from the 5th district, here in Spokane, she is my current congresswomen. She is going to be a great choice for interior. I have already sent here a long e-mail explaining the plight of the mining community at this time. I have had a couple conference calls in the past with her and she has been very willing to listen and seems very sympathetic to our cause. Now that she will truly have some power I plan to continue to stay in touch with her and keep her on point. I truly believe that she will reign in the forest service and BLM. Lets bring all those gates down and open our PUBLIC lands up for the public, Bye bye to lands being put away for what, for nothing but to make some politicians feel good about themselves and to pander to their left wing of their party. Lets make America Great again. This is our time to make a change, we have been given 4-8 years to get this right lets not waste our opportunity.

She won't have much influence, if any, over USFS, that is under the Sec. /Agriculture.  While some BLM/USFS districts try to work together, it doesn't work out that well, as they operate under different ruls, reg, and CFR's.

Depends if the two Sec's. are of like minds, and of course who ends up as USFS Chief and BLM Director.

Our chances are very good that they will be all like minded people and join heads to think alike. I think there is a good posibility that Trump will cut the bureaucracy and join the 2 department into 1 and cut the fat out of it. I have read for years how these are dual agencys which have parallel rules, but yet separate and waste tons of money in doing so. That would be great to put into 1 and unload those extra personnel which waste our tax dollars.
